ACEC/MA Announces Stantec as a 2021 Engineering Silver Excellence Award Winner

BOSTON - Jan. 26, 2022 - PRLog -- The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Stantec as a 2021 Silver Engineering Excellence Award winner for its work on the Ride App Congestion Relief Project at Logan International Airport.

The Ride App Congestion Relief Project at the Logan International Airport serves as a national model for airports managing the recent influx of ride share traffic by providing a consolidated facility that safely and efficiently processes ride share activity, while reducing airport roadway traffic volume and ­­deadheading ride share drivers in the airport tunnels and adjacent communities. By diverting this traffic into a central location, the project mitigated the roadway congestion caused by ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft and enabled the major roadway construction project between Terminals B and C, as well as the reconstruction of Terminal C arrival and departure curbside areas, to be done with minimal impacts to airport operations and the traveling public.

The 2021 Engineering Excellence Awards were recently announced and were  celebrated at the virtual ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala. The awards celebrate innovation, ingenuity, and excellence in engineering achievement.
