Shintaro Yamada Elected to Partner at Lucas & Mercanti

Mr. Yamada joined the firm in 2013 in its chemical practice group. His work at Lucas & Mercanti focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in organic and inorganic chemistry, cosmetics, food sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, automotive products, office equipment and medical equipment. He also provides clients with opinions relating to validity, infringement, and freedom to operate. He maintains an active US trademark practice. Fluent in English and Japanese, Mr. Yamada represents a number of the firm's clients based outside the United States.

Mr. Yamada practiced as a Japanese Patent Attorney at a prominent Japanese patent firm before joining Lucas & Mercanti.
Mr. Yamada is admitted to the New York State Bar, the US Patent and Trademark Office, and the Japan Patent Office.
Mr. Yamada received a J. D. degree from Brooklyn Law School, a Masters of Intellectual Property from University of New Hampshire School of Law, and a Master of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Tokyo Metropolitan University.
