Alten Construction completes modernization of Castro Valley High School

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. - Jan. 20, 2022 - PRLog -- CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. — Alten Construction, a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently completed a $3.5 million modernization of existing classroom buildings in Wing 200 at Castro Valley High School.

The 17,000-square-foot renovation included the replacement of furnace units with a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) mechanical system, demolition of restroom walls, ceilings and floor finishes to modernize them, removal and replacement of drinking fountains, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility enhancements and HVAC upgrades, among other items.

Work began on the project in May 2021 and took roughly seven months to complete. The campus remained active throughout construction.

Located at 19400 Santa Maria Avenue, Castro Valley High School's mission is to educate students and prepare them for college and their careers in a learning environment that is safe, nurturing and culturally responsive. The school has a student population of more than 2,500.
