Going Back to Documentary Roots

Director Joseph Villapaz's upcoming project is a training video

NEW YORK - Jan. 16, 2022 - PRLog -- For the past few years, Joseph Villapaz has focused on directing an anthology science fiction series consisting of features and shorts based around a universe he's created. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he has temporarily put that on hold to create a short instructional video on simple breathing exercises called Qigong dating back for over four thousand years. "When the global health crisis started," says Villapaz, "it inspired the plot for my previous short film, Perpetual Anamnesis. That was a fictional story but I felt compelled to create something that could be helpful, something that people could actually practice on their own to provide a little break from the negativity in the world." Villapaz gathered actors Curtis St. John, Habin Kwak, Louisa de Butts, Sophia Gutchinov and Zoey Zo to perform as students. "Qigong," continues Villapaz, "is comprised of soft and slow exercises so practically anyone can practice it." The result is Qiqong Instructional Video and should be completed by the time you read this. http://www.azunnearts.com
