Main Street Waterbury announces 2021 People's Choice Winners
The People's Choice award is selected based on the total number of online & paper votes received from the community for each participating business.
MSW's Design committee, one of Main Street America's four-point approaches to downtown revitalization, addresses the physical characteristics and beautification of Downtown. The Committee led by Anabela Maia organizes a window display contest for a friendly competition among downtown Waterbury businesses. This year a Magical Downtown Holiday Stroll was organized where merchants remained open for extended holiday shopping hours with tasty bites and beverages for strollers. Additional entertainment included magic & fortune with Cyril the Sorcerer, Santa Claus Al, holiday music with Judah's Camp Studios, and the Waterbury PAL Choir. The goal is simple: create and transform storefronts through festive visual displays and programming that attracts and encourages shopping opportunities.
