By: CASwell Inc. The CAF-0100 Is based on the latest Intel Atom x6000 processors ("Elkhart Lake") with four cores but a model with two cores is also available for lighter usage. According to Intel, this Atom series of processors using the "Tremont" microarchitecture offers 70 percent more performance in single-threaded and 50 percent more speed in multi-threaded workloads than the previous generation, the widely used Atom x5- and x7-3900 "Apollo Lake" series like inside the fanless network appliance CAW-0111. The production node was also improved to 10 nanometer so the already good energy efficiency of the Intel Atom series of processors gets even better. The CAF-0100 is also using up to 16 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM main memory with IBECC, uses fast eMMC storage and has optional support for HDMI, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE or 5G mobile communication. Access to cellular networks can be provided by M.2 modules via a specific daughter board while WiFi can be made available will a miniPCI Express module. With WiFi the CAF-0100 offers five Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports but waiving Wi-Fi enables six Ethernet ports. The CAF-0100 furthermore supports Ethernet Bypass Gen. 4.4 which can be added by option. Trusted Platform Module is supported with the necessary TPM header onboard. Availability The CASwell CAF-0100 is the ideal solution for SMB and SOHO to monitor network traffic, for bandwidth management or medical and dental imaging systems. This appliance can be configured according to customer demand and samples for customer evaluation are available now. Please contact your local CASwell representative or sales for any questions.
