ASA to Host Personal Property Appraisal Virtual Summer Camp

HERNDON, Va. - Dec. 23, 2021 - PRLog -- ASA announces the opening of registration for its new 2022 ASA Summer Appraisal Camp to be held August 3-27, 2022.

This accelerated, intensive four-week virtual education program provides the skills needed to build a career in appraising personal property such as fine and decorative art, antiques, vintage cars, furniture, coins, stamps and more. Participants will gain an understanding of important professional standards and requirements as outlined in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and by the IRS, understand critical valuation approaches and the market research process, learn the requirements for thorough and compliant appraisal reports, and discuss and apply the latest tax laws applicable to appraisals – all leading to the launch of an appraisal practice or career advancement. Completion of this rigorous program also satisfies the educational requirements of ASA's accreditation process.

The program includes four virtual courses held over four weeks, including:

• PP201 - Introduction to Personal Property Valuation – August 3-6, 2022
• PP202 - Development of a Personal Property Appraisal: Research and Analysis – August 10-13, 2022
• PP203 - Communication of a Personal Property Appraisal: Report Writing – August 17-20, 2022
• PP204 - Personal Property Valuation: The Legal and Commercial Environments – August 24-27, 2022

Each course will be presented online via Zoom and taught live by an Accredited Senior Appraiser over three days, with an exam on the fourth day. Participants will meet virtually with the instructor and will engage in discussions, exercises and post-session assignments. Courses were developed in conformity with the appraisal practices and standards set forth by The Appraisal Foundation's (TAF) Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), recognized throughout the US as the accepted standards of appraisal practice. TAF is congressionally authorized as the source of standards and appraiser qualifications.
