The Emmett Till Legacy Foundation presents the Women of Courage Awards in honor of Mamie Till Mobley

The Awards in honor of the mother of Emmett Louis Till, are presented to women who have demonstrated the ability and resolve to transform tragedy, disappointment, heartbreak and loss into a lasting legacy of courage and hope.

  • Valerie Castile, Philanthropist and mother of Philando Castile
  • Jo Ann Clark, advocate for educational access
  • Monique Cullars-Doty, advocate for support of families who've lost loved ones to police violence
  • Dorez Douglas, film and television producer, projects known for amplifying marginalized voices and exposing issues  that impact communities of color
  • Melissa Earnest, Justice for Emmett Louis Till advocate, ETLF Ambassador
  • Kia Ebron, health professional and mother
  • Aunjanue Ellis, Emmy nominated actress and advocate
  • Jacqueline Horton, activist
  • Rose McGee, advocate, founder of Sweet Potato Comfort Pie
  • Eunice J. Miller, teacher and education advocate

Established by the ETLF in 2006, the Women of Courage Awards were a part of the nonprofit's Women's Empowerment Symposium "Loving from the Inside Out" where they hosted a luncheon and presented awards to women who had been nominated and selected.
