Pro Football Player Jeremy Hickey Provides Library For Lone Pine's New Level 4 Classroom

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Dec. 16, 2021 - PRLog -- Bloomfield Hills resident and professional football player, Jeremy Hickey, surprised students at Lone Pine Elementary school on Monday with over 100 books as part of his annual charitable giveback. Hickey, an offensive lineman out of Eastern Michigan, coordinated with Lone Pine Elementary to identify a need that their campus had leading into the holiday season. When he learned of the new level 4 classroom that was in need of reading material for the students, he quickly got to work collecting resources to provide them with their own classroom library.

In addition to new books purchased by Hickey and his agency, he also partnered with the Bloomfield Township Library, which generously donated two additional boxes of books from their own inventory for this charitable giveback event.

"We are thrilled to work with Jeremy to help provide the gift of reading for this special new classroom at Lone Pine Elementary," stated Bloomfield Township Lirbary's Assistant Department Head of Youth Services, Jen Taggart.

Lone Pine Elementary school's principal, Dr. Hillberry, noted that since the Level 4 classroom is new this school year, there was a need for more books. Hickey's donation of over 100 books now provides a well-stocked classroom library for the students.

"For me, giving back to kids is one of my favorite things, " Hickey said. As someone who holds a teaching certificate himself, Hickey understands the value and impact that books have on students. "I am excited to be able to give the students in my own local community a gift that can be enjoyed for years to come."
