Bayou City Breastfeeding Opens New Office On Jones Road

HOUSTON - Dec. 16, 2021 - PRLog -- Bayou City Breastfeeding (BCB), Houston's largest group Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) practice, is expanding its reach in the greater Houston area with a new Jones Road location, opened on Dec. 1. The practice takes many insurance plans and prospective patients can see one of several IBCLCs based out of the office.

"Our IBCLCs are passionate and dedicated," said Suzanne Juel, IBCLC RLC, founder and president of BCB. "We really are focused on providing not just basic lactation support, but providing that complete, end to end, all-encompassing support for families in anything related to feeding, not just breastfeeding."

Patients at the new location, in a newly refurbished building, can be seen by one of the team's IBCLCs that will practice out of the two-room office. Tessa Gardin, IBCLC RLC, specializes in infant feeding as well as infant massage. Gardin is a licensed massage therapist and will be offering myofascial release therapy. Bodywork is available for now for infants in the office.

"I really feel that I was put here to help people," Gardin said. " I am drawn to babies, I have always been drawn to babies and seeing the ways the moms respond when things start working. It brings me a lot of peace."

Within the next 12 months, a variety of classes will be offered at this location, such as classes for tummy time, nutrition, back-to-work, prenatal education, and baby-led weaning. The size of this new office will make it the first BCB office to regularly offer these in-person classes. Additionally, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) will provide lower-priced consultations for cash pay clients at this office, offering a more cost-effective solution for families that do not have insurance to cover their visits.

"Accessibility is the reason I chose that location," Gardin said. "It is In the middle of a lot of underserved areas and opens the availability for more moms to get help. This office is easy to get to and in a good area, allowing us to see more people."
