Arizona Technology Council's 2021 Q3 Impact Report Reveals Technology Industry Jobs, Wages and Companies Continue to IncreaseLatest Report Denotes Consistent Industry Growth and Provides Additional Data on Sex and Racial Disparity
PHOENIX - Dec. 9, 2021 - PRLog -- The Arizona Technology Council today released its Q3 2021 Arizona Technology Industry Impact Report, which spotlights the continued growth of the state's technology sector. The data reveals the number of jobs and wages rose within Arizona's technology industry throughout 2021 and technology companies continued moving headquarters to the state or opening new offices. The year-over-year rise in the number of jobs (2.64%), wages (2.96%) and Arizona-based technology companies (5.43%) show positive signs of growth in the state.
The report also provides a new breakdown of the men-to-women ratio in top technology occupations, shedding more light on sex disparity in the industry. The full report can be viewed here. "Arizona's technology industry continues to lead the state and compete on a national level through growth and innovation," In the report's newest breakdown of occupational gender disparity, women are still poorly represented across top jobs in technology. For instance, women only make up 10.7% of audio and video technicians, 13.5% of broadcast technicians and 14.1% of computer hardware engineers. The gap is closing in occupations like natural science managers with women holding 45.3% of jobs in this field, computer systems analysts, 35.4%; and database administrators and architects, 35.4%.
