PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Dec. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- Women often feature as victim or the femme fatale in the suspense and mystery genre, but in TANGLED LIES, the fast-paced thriller by Karen E. Osborne, two women of different generations and vastly different backgrounds come together to solve a brutal murder.

The novel released July 22, 2021, by Black Rose Writing, has been named a Finalist in the 2021 BestThrillers.Com Book Awards.

This is the second novel from Osborne. Essence Magazine selected her debut GETTING IT RIGHT, as "One of Summer's Best Books," and Poets & Writers featured it in their special issue 5 Over 50.

As the novel opens, grandmother Vera Moon arrives home on an icy February day to find her grown son Charlie brutally murdered. She vows to find the killer who has managed to elude the police. Vera is struggling with where to begin when she is involved in a suspicious hit-and-run car accident, witnessed by a young woman, Dani, on the run from the train-wreck of her own life.

As circumstances throw Vera and Dani into an unlikely alliance, the two find themselves embroiled in a web of truths and lies that imperils them both, but also may bring Charlie's murderer to justice.

Meet the author…

A native New Yorker, Karen now lives in Port Saint Lucie, Florida with her husband. As a kid in the Bronx, she kept friends enthralled with stories of adventures she pretended to have experienced. Osborne says marriage, children, and a successful career, first as an academic administrator and then co-owner of The Osborne Group consulting and training firm, sidelined her ambition to be a writer until one day Kara, the protagonist in her first novel, began speaking to her. Her third novel, RECKONINGS, will be released in June 2022.
