To Help Her Fill Up Her After School Tutoring Class She was Starting

I told her I'd be happy to since I was completely full in my in home tutoring schedule. I then asked her if she knew of any teacher who wanted to make a little extra money tutoring after school. ALL of my problems were solved when she said,

"I'll do it."

It seems she was just getting started with tutoring and hadn't even acquired a room yet.

Ladies and Gentlemen I Present to You Dr. Alice DePina

Dr. D, as her students and now in home tutoring students here in Honolulu Hawaii call her, received her doctorate in Principals of Teaching and Learning in 2013.

She's been teaching school since 2007. Dr D is currently teaching Hawaiian studies and U.S. History at a middle school in the Salt Lake area. She has a wide variety of subjects for which she has experience in:

Special education

Math

Science

Language arts

Vocation and careers

History

After school enrichment

Dr. D has also been the headteacher at an elementary school.

She has a passion for world history and specialized reading for ELL students (English Learning Language). Dr D has been an established member of her community since 2015.

On a personal note, Alice has been a friend of mine since 2016. I've never seen anyone so passionate not just about teaching but, teaching students to learn. In other words, giving students the tools they need to be able to learn on their own. Both Alice and I agree when a student discovers an answer on his/her own with as little prompting as possible from the teacher/tutor, the student's confidence increases as well as an increase in retention level of the new knowledge.
