Admiral Richard Byrd went to Antarctica and tried to reach the South Pole. On February 19, 1947, it was very windy with freezing temperatures. On the afternoon of February 23, he got on a plane with two men. He flew over a barren desert of ice and snow, and what they found was not possible. This is what he wrote in his diary: "Off in the distance is what appears to be mountains, and over the smaller mountain range appears to be a valley with a small river or a stream running through the center portion. There should be no green valleys below a temperature of seventy degrees. But a forest is growing in this area." They were then met with flying objects. A voice came over the radio. "Welcome, Admiral Byrd. We will lead you to our dwelling."

Manuel F. Lim's first book was so long that he broke it up into three parts. The second book is Tammie Rising. The third is Tiamat's Demise, with an additional fourth book as a spinoff. The author is a native of Philadelphia.
