Pepenella named President of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Dec. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) swore in it's new officers during their statewide Conference on Tourism held at the Hollywood Ballroom in the Hard Rock Casino Hotel at Atlantic City on December 1. Its members include every aspect of the $38 billion State tourism industry and are a representative body of organizations that promote and serve the individual aspects of that industry.

The organization's new board will be led by their new President Lori Pepenella. Lori serves as CEO of the 107 year Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. For well over a decade she has represented the Long Beach Island Region serving as a Commissioner for Ocean County Culture & Heritage and is currently Vice Chair for the Ocean County Business & Tourism Advisory Board. She served on the charter board for Ocean County Military Support Committee and named to the Ocean County College 100 Women Campaign. She has served as core committee member NJTIA's Conference for Tourism since 2009, and moves up from her role as Vice President of New Jersey Tourism Industry. She also presided as Statewide President of NJ Destination Marketing Organizations from 2010-2014. Lori has been a featured lecturer and mentor for both the Philadelphia and New York Non Profit Leadership Summits; She has presented at the Destination International Annual Convention; Stockton University Jersey ShoreCast and Shoreview, contributing writer to NJ League of Municipalities Magazine as well as presenter at the NJLM Convention this past November.  Since 2012, she has hosted the LBI Region Report weekly FM radio show and podcast.  Lori has been honored as Southern Ocean Rotary's Paul Harris Fellow, Ocean County Freeholder's Tourism Achievement Award, Honorary Commander at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst and Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Woman of Achievement. Since 2020 has become Trustee for NJ Pro Wind Grantor trust, Board Member for Community Foundation of South Jersey, and Editor of TAPinto Little Egg Harbor/Tuckerton published by Southern Ocean Chamber.

The new slate of officers includes Vice Presidents Ben Rose, Greater Wildwoods Tourism Authority, Jennifer Costa, Greater Elizabeth Chamber, Heather Colache, Meet AC, Secretary Michael Snyder Visit South Jersey, Treasurer Joann Delvescio of NJ Campground Owners Association, and Immediate Past President Adam Perle of ArtPride NJ.

Recognizing the changing and challenging landscape for every sector of tourism, the NJTIA board's first initiative for the new year is the launch of their branded Certified Tourism Leadership professional development program with the Levenson Institute of Stockton University.
