New Medical Equipment Products Added To CME's Nearly $50 Million Contract with Government Agencies
New ECAT Contract Makes 4,000 More Products Available From Nation's Largest Equipment-Only Distributor of Medical Products
By: HKA Marketing Communications
Under the contract modification, CME will make available more than 4,000 new items from eight manufacturers, as well as more product categories, for the five-year contract. Some products include UVC disinfection devices, suction and gas regulators, flowmeters, blenders, and portable suction equipment, plus an expansion of CME's other product categories including lighting, scale, and cart offerings.
Under the DLA's medical supply chain system known as ECAT, an online system that streamlines ordering, distribution and payment of pharmaceutical, medical, and surgical equipment, the products will be eligible for use by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, along with the Veterans Administration and Indian Health Services, a division of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Other prominent federal customers of ECAT include the departments of Homeland Security, Justice, and State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
"We are pleased to be able to provide a wide array of new products to the federal government at a time when the fight against COVID-19 and the Delta variant is still very much a concern," said Bob Charron, government sales manager of CME. "This contract modification is a further indicator both of our company's commitment to do everything possible to help our customers and of our own continuing expansion."
CME's DLA contract #SPE2DH20D0046, awarded by Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support from Philadelphia, and the new modification represent additional wins for CME after a previous, successful contract inked with the DOD in 2018 for $16.275 million.
