Global Brand and Export Development First Certified Minority Food Brokerage Firm

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Nov. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- Global Brand and Export Development was announced a Certified Minority Business Enterprise by the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (ChicagoMSDC). This certification will allow the company to have more opportunities to connect with corporate buyers and build relationships with trusted Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).

The National Minority Supplier Development Council has many benefits and provides programs and networks of MBE's that connect corporate and government buying organizations to help minority-owned businesses be successful.

Global attained national certification on August 9^th 2021. The process to become a certified minority owned business includes an application process that can take up to 90 days and a thorough vetting of the business owners. A majority of the company, at least 51% must be owned, managed, and controlled by an individual who is at least 25% Asian-Indian, Asian-Pacific, Black, Hispanic, or Native American. The certification process requires documentation to be audited by their Certification Compliance Committee and a COVID adapted virtual site visit by a NMSDC Certification Specialist. The Board of Directors makes the final approval for a business to become an MBE.

NMSDC has certified businesses in many different industries however, as one of the very few food industry related companies in the program we hold a competitive advantage in the market. There are many programs available, but the Global-Link International Program is an especially exciting opportunity to utilize. This program works with organizations in other countries to replicate the NMSDC model. This program played a critical role in the creation of partner organizations in Australia, Canada, China, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. These international partner organizations are a gateway for U.S.-based MBEs to meet international MBEs who may be potential partners to help them gain access to the global marketplace.
