PRLog -- The Junior League of Boca Raton held its 34
th annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Awards Luncheon on November 12
th, to honor 22 local volunteers serving the community. This year, the honor was bestowed upon Debralyn Belletieri for her work with the American Association of Caregiving Youth. Debralyn Belletieri has volunteered with American Association for Caregiving Youth (AACY) for the past nine years. She currently serves as AACY Board Treasurer, but her primary focus has been in the role of event chairperson, hosting many fundraisers, including an annual gala, game nights, annual graduation celebration, and other smaller events throughout the year. Through her tremendous leadership, not only has AACY hosted many successful, fun events, her amazing circle of family and friends are instrumental in every single event. AACY is so grateful to Debralyn and her entourage of volunteers. In addition, Debralyn is a Mentor, and is the first person to sign up for any event for the youth, whether it is helping with transportation, dropping off items necessary for youth to participate;
contributing financially;
and offering her time and many talents. Debralyn is there every single time. Her work with many other organizations, including Advent Lantana, results in wonderful partnerships for AACY, as they hosted a lovely, in-person graduation celebration there in June. AACY is honored to have been recognized by the JLBR through Debralyn's award and her tireless work with and for our organization. Rosie Inguanzo-Martin, AACY Board Chair and Founder & CEO of Allegiance Home Health, Dr. Connie Siskowski, AACY Founder & President, and Gail Eagle, AACY Board Member, were all in attendance to congratulate Debralyn on her achievement.
Founded in 1998 by Dr. Siskowski, what is now AACY currently serves more than 450 caregiving youth (with more enrolled each day), in 33 middle and high schools throughout Palm Beach County. The organization is proud of its team operating the Caregiving Youth Project (CYP), which, since being established in 2006, has served more than 2,000 Caregiving Youth and their families. The CYP provides professional services in school, out of school and at home as well as supports students and their families with a myriad of needs-driven wraparound services with the help of collaborating partners. The CYP has since seen a seven-year average high school graduation rate of 98%!
