Grove Transit of Mississippi Receives National Accreditation as an NEMT Provider

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Nov. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- Grove Transit of Hattiesburg, MS, became just the fourth company nationwide to have met the required standards and earned national accreditation from Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC). As an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer (ASD), NEMTAC standards represent industry best practices to ensure consistently high-quality customer care, safe vehicle operations, and ethical business practices. Obtaining NEMTAC accreditation distinguishes an organization and signifies to its customers and stakeholders that they have met the NEMT industry standards of excellence. In addition, NEMTAC's comprehensive accreditation process often exceeds those established by state or local regulators.

Melissa Jankowski, NEMTAC's Executive Director, noted, "NEMTAC previously bestowed accreditation to three NEMT providers during the pilot launch of the program. Grove Transit is the first provider to be recognized after the pilot program, and we anticipate many more providers to be accredited in the coming months."

When asked why he went through the effort to obtain accreditation, Reid replied, "The industry has long needed the means to recognize and set apart companies that strive to maintain industry best practices and standards. I truly believe, now that such standards are out there, it won't be long before all paying sources, such as, brokers, insurance companies, skilled nursing homes and the like, will have a fiduciary obligation to their passengers to require the NEMT providers they contract with to be NEMTAC accredited, or at the very least, meet the standards set for accreditation" he further added, "Grove Transit has always strived to be at the forefront in this industry when it comes to safety, innovation and technology, we felt it was a natural for us to be at the front of the pack for something so important as Accreditation."
