Spiritus Medical Inc attends International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2021 in Dubai for NASA JPL-designed VITAL Ventilator Presentation

The IAC presentation 'How Businesses are Working Together to Deliver NASA JPL-designed Ventilators to the World in the Fight Against COVID-19' was authored and presented by Spiritus Medical Inc.'s CEO, Dr. Peter H.U. Lee, cardiothoracic surgeon, SouthCoast Health. The presentation outlined how NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) engineers had embarked on an ambitious project to design a reliable, easy-to-use, and low-cost ventilator that was made of readily available parts to address the unexpected global shortage of these lifesaving devices and detailed how STARK Industries LLC's spin-off Spiritus Medical Inc, commercialized the NASA technology.

The VITAL, renamed the Spiritus 'VITALITY' Ventilator, is a single mode pneumatic ventilator that was designed by NASA engineers in April of 2020 to specifically address the shortage of ventilators associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The original design is FDA EUA approved and the ventilator is 'Made in the USA'.
