Rebecca Barclay, MA, NCC, LPC, Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Nov. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- Rebecca Barclay, MA, NCC, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor, from Harrisburg, Pa, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Rebecca earned a master's degree in mental health counseling from Messiah College in Mechanicsburg. She also has the distinction of being credentialed as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors.

In her clinical practice she treats children, teenagers, and adults. Her clinical experience includes community and school-based therapy, community mental health clinics, and group private practice.

Recognition of the obesity pandemic and the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led to her receiving a fellowship from AABC. Because of her commitment to community and school-age health, AABC awarded her an academic scholarship.  Her professional stature and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
