COLUMBIA, Md. - Nov. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- Ambu Inc., the world leader in single-use endoscopy, donated a state-of-the-art, wireless cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) manikin, AmbuMan®, to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department north of Baltimore, MD and a year's worth of Ambu Bag resuscitation supplies.

AmbuMan helps first-responders practice life-saving techniques including chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, identifying pulse and heart rate and defibrillator training. It features state-of-the-art technology to speak directly to an operator's computer, phone, or tablet and provide real time CPR feedback so participants know immediately if they are performing compressions properly. Ambu will also donate to the firehouse a year's supply of its iconic hand-held resuscitator, the Ambu® BagTM, which is celebrating its 65th birthday this year. This ubiquitous, life-saving tool has helped more than 45 million people breathe in the last decade alone.

"We strongly believe in supporting first responders and are pleased to provide the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department with our state-of-the-art AmbuMan," said Allan Jensen, Ambu's Vice President of Sales, Anesthesia. "We believe practice makes perfect, and technology like AmbuMan will help members of the team perfect a wide range of life-saving techniques."

"The techniques we practice on this lifelike AmbuMan will enable us to save lives when we respond to real world emergencies," said Kevin C. Palmer Jr., President of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department. "We are grateful to Ambu for providing this tool that will help us continue to learn and become more effective at saving lives. Thank you, AmbuMan!"

First known as the Ambu Phantom, the precursor to AmbuMan was developed in 1958. Demand for this training technology increased with the introduction of CPR and the need to train medical personnel. Today, Ambu offers a broad range of high-tech manikins that provide a wide range of training opportunities, from basic life support to advanced life support.
