"It's one of the Club's annual traditions to recognize first responders. It was heartwarming to see the overwhelming participation of the Mizner community, who came out to show their appreciation and say thanks to those who dedicate their lives to community service," said Marie Mitchalk, Mizner Country Club's Director of Membership.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw spoke individually to members at this year's event. Added Gordon Llewellyn, Mizner's Director of Security, "We are extremely fortunate to have a strong relationship with Sheriff Bradshaw and his district command officers, as well Fire/Rescue Departments and other first responder teams that serve our community daily. We believe we are helping to reshape the community policing model in South Florida"
Mitchalk also thanked Susan Feldman, the event's Chair, for her time and dedication in organizing the annual event. "Susan dedicates a tremendous amount of time communicating with many of our local PBSO, PBFD, DPD, BPD, PBGPD officials so that we can make today happen."
The day also included tours for Mizner members, their children and grandchildren of the latest fire engines and SWAT , and bomb vehicles, K-9 and tactical teams, as well as visits from mounted police units.
This is the fifth year of the First Responders Tribute Event at Mizner Country Club.
