GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND: Patton (https://www.patton.com/)—US manufacturer of Pro-AV, Unified Communications, and ALL-IP cloud solutions—has successfully shipped the initial production run of the FPX6000 AVoIP Gateway (https://www.patton.com/fpx6000/) series, the world's first Dante AV (https://www.patton.com/danteav/) encoders and decoders—despite the global supply-chain shortage of silicon computer chips.

"Our first production run on these immensely popular AVoIP gateways has completely sold out," said Buddy Oliver, VP of Product Management. "We are now taking pre-orders for our next production run."

"With the global supply-chain issues in the computer products industry, future lead times on our FPX6000 Dante AV products are unknown," Oliver elaborated. "Since demand far outweighs supply for AVoIP gateways, we encourage our customers to plan their projects early and get their orders in now."

Global Chip Shortage

The current global shortage of computer chips is widely known among industry professionals.

When such logistics experts as Apple are forced to cut production (https://www.zdnet.com/article/chip-manufacturers-revenues...), it becomes clear that just about every technology manufacturer is affected by the present supply-chain problem.

Raspberry Pi recently announced a price increase attributed to the global chip shortage (https://www.zdnet.com/article/raspberry-pi-makes-its-firs...), while also indicating the company sees "early signs that the supply-chain situation is starting to ease."

One more ray of hope: In the midst of the worldwide semiconductor shortage, UAE-owned chip-maker Global Foundries (incorporated in Cayman Islands with factories in the USA) has announced its initial public offering (https://www.marketwatch.com/story/globalfoundries-ipo-5-things-to-know-about-the-chip-company-going-public-in-a-semiconductor-shortage-11634834944) (IPO).

About the FiberPlex FPX6000 AVoIP Gateway
      • Patton introduced the world's first Dante AV encoder and decoder (https://www.patton.com/press/patton-introduces-worlds-first-danteav-encoder-and-decoder/) in August of this year.

      • High Quality 4k. Dante AV technology integrates high-quality audio and industry-leading 4K 60p 4:4:4 video for transmission over 1Gbps IP networks with near-zero latency.

      • Reliable performance. Patton's FPX6000 gateways make it easy to insert up to 8 channels of audio (transmit or receive)—plus a video channel with HDCP encryption—into an existing Ethernet backbone. The Patton solution eliminates the performance issues, network-upgrade expense, and management difficulties formerly associated with audio and video over IP.

      • Easy. Patton's AVoIP gateways are easy to install and use. The Dante controller makes routing, controlling, and monitoring audio/video traffic and endpoints simple as the click of a mouse.

In related news, in July of this year, Patton earned the acclamation "2021 communication solution product of the year (https://www.patton.com/press/patton-esbc-for-teams-wins-2021-communication-solution-product-of-the-year/)" for its innovative eSBC for Microsoft Teams (https://www.patton.com/datasheet/microsoft_teams_datasheet_50000081.pdf).
