Nonprofit CEO Announces Candidacy For City Council District 7

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Nov. 2, 2021 - PRLog -- Nahshon Nicks has spent his entire adult life living in district 7. Now raising his family there, Nicks has hope for a change in the city of Jacksonville and the district. "As a servant leader my plan is to build a transparent vision for District 7 that begins with the people," said Nicks. Nahshon previously ran for City Council District 7 in 2019 against current councilman Reggie Gaffney, Solomon Olapade and Sharis Riley.

Nicks currently serves as the CEO of the First Coast Leadership Foundation. He has pioneered many programs since taking this position including the Mentoring 2 Thrive mentorship program which focuses on  decreasing risk factors for substance abuse and increasing protective factors and resilience through mentoring and connecting youth and their families to resources such as health and social services, prosocial community activities, and neighborhood resources, including mental health and law enforcement agencies. Nahshon continues his mission to help employees and job seekers connect through his job fair series. Nicks hopes to work with larger corporations  create employment opportunities that will retain top talent in the river city.

Nahshon Nicks will officially announce his candidacy today and his priorities to:

• Investing in the Heartbeat of the City - Downtown Jacksonville
• Creating jobs that attract and retain top talent in Jacksonville
• Working with the biggest business entities to create a sustainable plan for growth in district 7 and build up the tax base
• Provide transparent and consistent leadership
