Follow on Google News | Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis Receives $4,000 Grant from the Dollar General Literacy FoundationBy: Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis "Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis is grateful for the generous support from The Dollar General Literacy Foundation," BHGHSTL scholars utilize an online curriculum developed by the BHGH International Network to supplement their in-classroom academic learning. This age-appropriate curriculum includes extra reading, reflection, and college preparatory exercises, and is delivered through an online platform. With support from the Dollar General Foundation, BHGHSTL will be able to purchase laptops and other devices to ensure scholars can continue to work toward their goals. Individual scholar successes build our organizational success as we work toward our literacy objectives: 80% of scholars increase reading fluency within one year of joining our program, with 75% of all scholars reading above grade level. In partnership with the Dollar General Foundation, BHGHSTL works to help scholars achieve educational milestones and ultimately make their dreams a reality. "The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has been proud to invest in literacy and education programs in the communities we call home for nearly 30 years," said Denine Torr, Executive Director of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at Dollar General. "As the educational landscape continues to shift, our hope is that these funds will help increase access and resources for students, educators and communities dedicated to reading and learning." The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is proud to support initiatives that help others improve their lives through literacy and education. Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $200 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, helping more than 14 million individuals take their first steps toward literacy or continued education. https://www.boyshopegirlshopestl.org https://www.dgliteracy.org https://www.dollargeneral.com End
