Dr Allen Steven Lycka Hosting Seminar, "What I Learned by Almost Dying" for Tualatin Rotary Club
Due to COVID concerns, the presentation will take place via Zoom from noon-1pm PT. Rotary Club members wishing to view the presentation should e-mail Dr. Lycka for the link at email@example.com.
Dr. Lycka will discuss the events of his life that began a downward turn when he was incorrectly diagnosed with ALS in 2003. In addition to the mental and physical hardship caused by the misdiagnosis, it nearly cost him his life – yet Dr. Lycka refused to succumb to the "death sentence" given him by the physician. Instead, he persistently searched for answers and the correct diagnosis – and finally found the solutions he sought.
"I share my entire story," says Dr. Lycka of his presentation, which has been seen by Rotary Clubs throughout Oregon this fall. "I experienced the entire gamut of emotions – grief, anger, denial, bargaining, depression – you name it, I experienced it. It's my hope that people are inspired by what's happened to me, realizing that it isn't what happens to you, it's what you do with it that matters most."
