Local Career and Resume Expert Says Job Market Improving for New Graduates

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 27, 2021 - PRLog -- Professional resume writer, Mandy Fard, says opportunities for new college graduates are improving. Students can also take steps to make themselves more attractive to employers.

The job market for new college graduates appears to be better this year than last year, according to a report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Employers project hiring 7.2 percent more new college graduates from the class of 2021 than they did from the class of 2020.

NACE also shows that average starting salaries for 2021 graduates earning bachelor's degrees are expected to increase. The Winter 2021 Salary Survey found that while some of the projected increases for 2021 graduates are small, all categories are expected to see increases in their salaries (although not all majors within the category are expected to see increases).

"Students who have been able to complete internships despite the pandemic have an advantage entering the job market," Fard said. "Volunteer experience and showing previous employment on the resume can also help set a student apart. Document class projects and be sure to showcase relevant coursework and awards and honors on the resume."
