Sarasota broker elected to statewide board of leading global commercial real estate network

SARASOTA, Fla. - Oct. 26, 2021 - PRLog -- Nick DeVito II, SIOR, has been elected to serve as Chapter Admissions Chair for the Florida chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR). DeVito is a partner at Sarasota-based commercial real estate firm Ian Black Real Estate.

SIOR is the leading global professional office and industrial real estate organization that certifies commercial real estate service providers with the exclusive SIOR designation, with 3,400 members in 42 countries. The Florida chapter includes over 220 members.

Individuals who hold the SIOR designation are top producers in the commercial real estate field and are known to be the most capable and experienced industrial and office brokerage practitioners in any market. To achieve the SIOR designation, candidates must have completed at least five years of creditable experience in the highly specialized field of industrial and office real estate; met stringent education requirements; and demonstrated professional ability and ethical conduct.

As Chapter Admissions Chair, DeVito will serve a one-year term as an officer of the Florida chapter. His responsibilities include serving as a statewide ambassador for SIOR candidates who have applied with the international organization to pursue their SIOR designation. DeVito will meet and interview candidates, introduce them to other SIOR members throughout the state and act as a liaison for SIOR leadership in the organization's corporate office.

"This new role will be a great way to meet new people and build relationships throughout the state," DeVito said. "I'm looking forward to supporting the organization and strengthening connections between new and incoming SIOR members."

DeVito earned the SIOR designation in 2018. At Ian Black Real Estate, partner Jag Grewal, CCIM, SIOR, and sales associate Melissa Harris, SIOR, also hold the SIOR designation.
