Designed as a 'home base' for 70+ million sufferers of gastrointestinal disorders in the U.S., MyGiHealth effectively serves patients with chronic GI diseases by providing patient education content and access to providers across the full spectrum of gastroenterology. The partnership with ACG will further advance scientific and clinical education, knowledge, information, advocacy, coordination, and healthcare delivery within the field of GI and its provider and patient stakeholder communities. "Millions of people suffer from GI discomfort in the U.S. without confidence in their care or clear solutions to choose from, said Craig Strasnick, CEO of My Total Health. "These patient communities lack reliable information regarding what diagnostic testing and therapeutic options exist, as well as the availability of access to GI specialists in their geographic region or area." Industry research from ACG suggests different provider communities often suffer from a lack of centralized education and coordination in delivering care, leading to fragmentation and inconsistency in delivery models and clinical approaches. Current social, cultural, and logistical impacts of COVID-19 have also resulted in additional fragmentation in communication between industry stakeholders and, more particularly, between GI patients and GI providers. Continued Strasnick, "Our partnership with ACG seeks to advance our mission further to improve patient education and care while promoting patient-centricity in the GI healthcare delivery model and improved patient-provider relationships." MyGIHealth covers the gamut of Functional GI Disorders (FGIDs), including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Celiac Disease, and Carbohydrate Malabsorption Disorders, as well as anatomic and inflammatory GI conditions, such as H. Pylori, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Crohn's Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis.
