The event supports small business owners and protects workers from health and safety risks relating to the COVID-19 pandemic by supplying N95 masks, face shields and other PPE materials, while helping business owners to comply with new federal, state and regional regulations and mandates taking effect. "LA SBDC is thrilled to continue serving our small businesses with resources to ensure they're able to safely operate," said Pat Nye, Regional Director for the LA SBDC. "We thank our dedicated volunteers and partners at Long Beach City College, PPE Unite and City of Long Beach for making this all possible." To date, LA SBDC and PPE Unite have signed up more than 60,000 businesses and have distributed over 30 million units of PPE to small businesses throughout Los Angeles County. "As Long Beach businesses start opening back up and recover from the health crisis, it's more important than ever to have available PPE at their disposal to keep their employees and customers safe," said Jay Tsao and Tova Mac, co-founders, PPE Unite. "Our efforts also include distributing free Safer at Work LA materials to ensure that establishments are compliant in light of new Long Beach and LA DPH health orders." The LA Regional SBDC Network and PPE Unite collaborate on these efforts to help businesses navigate the latest health order requirements and to ensure a safe operating environment for our region's small businesses and the customers they serve. The urgency to prevent and mitigate the spread of the virus for businesses and their workers remains a top priority as we approach the busy holiday season.
