Carrington College in Spokane Announces New Campus Director

SPOKANE, Wash. - Oct. 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Carrington College in Spokane is pleased to announce that Russ Battiata has been appointed to serve as the new campus director where he will focus on a larger operational perspective while still concentrating on the needs of students, faculty and staff.

"This is an exciting time for the Carrington College Spokane campus, and I am honored to serve as the new campus director," said Battiata. "My focus will be to ensure staff and faculty have all the resources necessary so they can help students find success in pursuing their educational goals. I look forward to improving student success rates and helping our graduates meet the needs of local employers."

Battiata brings to the position more than 27 years of experience in post-secondary education. He previously served as the campus president at MedVance Institute in Louisiana where he was responsible for maintaining academic operations after Hurricane Katrina. With clinically intensive programs such as Surgical Technology, Battiata played an integral role in helping students complete their clinical externships after the region was left devastated and with only a few externship sites remaining. He was later awarded President of the Year from MedVance Institute as his leadership was instrumental in navigating numerous challenges such as securing new clinical sites and relocating the campus.

"I strive to have students who are satisfied with their education through a student-centered and supportive environment," added Battiata. "We must continue to provide a clear and viable career path while maintaining efficient communication campus-wide."

Battiata, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, spent years living in Miami prior to relocating to Washington state. He is a mentor for the STEM Tech internship program in Sarasota County and works closely with a local hospital board while holding several leadership positions on their committees. Battiata is a father of three and an advocate for kindness and physical fitness. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College and served as a mentor for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.
