NAPLES, Fla. - Oct. 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Charity for Change has received a $7,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Collier County in support of operating expenses to make up a fundraising gap due to the pandemic, and a $2,500 capacity-building grant to facilitate a board development process.

The operating grant will help fill the financial gap created by the pandemic and cancellation or non-scheduling of three fundraising events. The funding will be used to help at-risk children develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to make good choices or change harmful behaviors.

The capacity-building grant will support the hiring of a consultant to develop a plan and facilitate a Board Development process, including recruitment of additional board members and restructuring of committees.

"We are grateful for the support of the Community Foundation of Collier County and its ongoing dedication to meet the critical needs of Collier County, particularly during the challenges brought on by the pandemic," said Karen Conley, founder and CEO of Charity for Change. "These grants will support our capacity to serve more children and contribute to building our operational strength and sustainability."

Naples-based educational nonprofit Charity for Change recently enhanced its school programs with a new online platform and additional social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum, which grew by 400% to address the mental wellness challenges during the pandemic and the aftermath.

The enhanced program includes scientifically proven methods of teaching SEL, including four teaching modalities. The proprietary curriculum seamlessly blends character education, charitable involvement and giving, with standards-based math and language arts in a cooperative learning environment.
