Exoskeleton that combines medicine and modern robotics helps against back pain

The startup Japet Medical developed a novel exoskeleton. For companies, its use can mean a significant reduction in work absences and accidents.

BERLIN - Oct. 19, 2021 - PRLog -- With the support of Startup Campus Germany, the French company has won its first German customers, Hof University of Applied Sciences and MeisterWerke Schulte GmbH.

Lower back pain, muscular and skeletal diseases are the main cause of absenteeism and occupational diseases. For companies, the resulting social and economic consequences are significant. Startup Japet Medical developed an innovative exoskeleton that stabilizes the back and limits risky postures. It adapts to the user's movements and preserves muscle activity in the lumbar region.
The first steps in the german market came through the european accelerator Startup Campus Germany. Through the EIT Health Bridgehead program, which supports and connects european healthcare entrepreneurs internationally, the cooperation between Japet Medical and Startup Campus Germany came about. The collaboration has now been extended for a third time now.
Startup Campus works in particular with startups from the fields of digital health and Industry 4.0. The aim is to provide professional preparation before entering the german market and comprehensive support during the process in order to build long-term partnerships. "Working with numerous startups over the years, we have found that one of their biggest challenges is global expansion. Our mission is to build bridges between international ecosystems and support the internationalization of startups", explains Zoltán Galla, CEO of Startup Campus Germany.
The first two customers in the german market of the french startup, Hof University of Applied Sciences and MeisterWerke Schulte, each purchased two of the Japet exoskeletons. The Hof University is using the devices as part of its project "pulsnetz KI", which is presenting AI-based technologies at a roadshow with a servicepoint truck (LINK Footnote with star!). MeisterWerke Schulte, a manufacturing company, wants to use the exoskeletons to reduce injuries and work accidents among its employees in daily operations.
From October 26 to 29, 2021, Japet Medical can be found at the international A+A Congress in hall 10 booth H40. Furthermore, Startup Campus Germany will represent the french company at the MEDICA in Düsseldorf, hall 15, booth H22 in collaboration with Berlin-Partner.
