He served his residency in family medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he also was a postdoctoral research scholar. He served a second residency in ophthalmology and was awarded a fellowship in ophthalmology at Fujian Provincial Hospital. Most recently, Dr. Zhao was medical director of Clarkson Family Medicine in Omaha, Neb., and was an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Creighton University Medical School, also in Omaha. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the Nebraska Academy of Family Practice.
