Cancun changes from yellow to green light in epidemiological traffic light scale

Such change contemplates several Municipalities of the State, among which are the most popular in terms of international tourism: Cancun (Benito Juarez), Playa del Carmen (Solidaridad)
The measures adopted from such the announcement allow essential industries to operate on normal capacity. This includes police departments, hospitals, supermarkets, convenience stores, financial institutions, schools among others.
Gyms and sport centers will now be able to operate up to 80% in open-air spaces and up to 60% in closed spaces.
Governor Carlos Joaquin emphasized that the light change doesn't mean the pandemic is over, but the whole opposite. It is required to keep the guard up, not relax sanitary measures but to strictly keep them to not go backwards.
The status change to green light happens due to the reduction of the infection curve on the mentioned Municipalities.
For tourists, the light change represents more opportunities to book a room on their preferred hotels, as resorts can now operate up to 80% of their capacity, 20% more than they had been operating on yellow light.
Nightlife is expected to be half reborn with this change, as bars and nightclubs will now be able to operate up to 50% of their capacity.

This first stage in green contemplates transfer actions from the yellow color, to gradually and responsibly adapt to the productive activities resumption.
