Mizner Country Club Lends A Helping Hand To Haitian Earthquake Victims

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Oct. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- On August 14, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake rocked the coast of Haiti causing widespread devastation. It was stronger than the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the Caribbean country in 2010 that affected 3 million people.  Haitian officials estimate, as a result of this recent earthquake, thousands of people remain in urgent need of assistance.

Heeding the call to action, Food For The Poor, an interdenominational Christian ministry that provides food, secure housing and emergency relief in primarily 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, answered Haiti's urgent request.  Mizner Country Club contributed to Food For The Poor to support and assist affected families with the short and long-term needs created by this unexpected tragedy. Mizner's Help For Haiti drive with its membership collected essential items for those most in need. All collections are being sent to Food For The Poor's headquarters located in Port Au Prince, capital of Haiti for distribution.

In making the announcement, Marie Mitchalk, Director of Membership said, "Our Mizner members wanted to help those Haitian families who have been adversely affected by the devastation.  Members and employees came together and donated car loads of essential items and unperishable foods which will be sent to the Food For The Poor warehouse in Coconut Creek, FL. for shipment via containers directly to Haiti. We hope that our efforts will make an impact on their recovery and health, during this trying time."
