Many Rivers Announces 11th Annual Food Drive

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - Oct. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- Many Rivers Community Acupuncture is excited to announce their 11th annual Food Drive to support the Bloomfield and Windsor Food Banks.  Many Rivers will collect non-perishable food items and toiletries from October 11 to October 24.

Our local food banks are in great need of donations because of the pandemic.  More people than ever are in need of food, and food banks have been receiving fewer donations. According to estimates from Feeding America, 428,800 people are facing hunger in Connecticut, and of them 109,480 are children.

"Many Rivers is proud that this is our 11th year collecting for our local food banks," said Many Rivers founder, Carrie Sawtell, L.Ac. "We always receive a generous outpouring of donations.  We just completed a hugely successful coat and boot donation drive for Afghan refugees coming to Connecticut.  And we're hoping that this year's Food Drive will be our biggest."

The Bloomfield and Windsor Food Banks are especially in need of canned meats, canned vegetables, cereal, granola bars and healthy school snacks for children, and Chunky and Progresso soups.  Household cleaning items, toilet paper and paper towels, and toiletries are also appreciated.

Everyone who donates to the Food Drive will be entered into a raffle to win a free acupuncture treatment.

Many Rivers provides affordable acupuncture treatments for stress and anxiety, pain, and many other conditions.  Many Rivers also has free videos on their website which demonstrate self-massage techniques for acupuncture points to help conditions such as anxiety, pain, and allergies.

Many Rivers is located at 3 Barnard Lane, Suite 205, in Bloomfield.  For more information, call (860) 683-0011 or go to
