OurSeniors.net welcomes United Against Poverty as newest Approved Nonprofit Organization
By: OurSeniors.net Magazine
Chief Executive Officer, Gwendolyn Butson says, "We believe in our purpose, which is to inspire and empower people living in poverty to lift themselves and their families to economic self-sufficiency through the hand up philosophy."
The organization thrives on its community involvement with year-round fundraisers, volunteer nights, and events. Seniors can get involved by lending their free time and resources. Volunteer Coordinator, Madeline, is always looking for new people to help in the Grocery Program, around the Life Enrichment Center, and for individual events as well. She is reachable at uporlando.org/
The organization plans to revitalize its two UP Centers in Orange and St. Lucie Counties. They will soon be launching a campaign to raise funds for the redevelopment of the Orlando campus to provide a bright, clean and welcoming space. It will also help increase the educational workshops and provide additional programs and support to the community.
