ST. LOUIS - Sept. 28, 2021 - PRLog -- TechArtista, a coworking company, is opening its fourth location at 725 Kingsland Avenue in University City on October 1, 2021, in partnership with Washington University St. Louis. TechArtista will operate a coworking space, including private offices, dedicated desks, and open seating memberships, in addition to meeting rooms, event space, and a publicly accessible café in the newly renovated Lewis Collaborative.

An Open House event free and open to the public will take place on Thursday, October 14th, 4-8 pm to celebrate the new location and for people to get a first look. The event will include tours, refreshments, and music. Masks will be required to attend the event, vaccinations are highly recommended.

"This has always been a creative hub and a hub for the arts," said Mary Campbell, Washington University Associate Vice Chancellor for Real Estate, who oversaw the renovation. "What we've done here stays true to that tradition. I think that's in the very DNA of this project."

The Lewis Collaborative, located less than a mile north of Washington University's Danforth Campus, represents a new chapter for TechArtista, University City, and the University. Over the last century, the sprawling, three-building complex — originally built as an art school for women — has housed a junior high, a high school, district offices, and, most recently, studio and classroom space for the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. In addition to TechArtista's operations, the Lewis Collaborative contains 93 residential units and flexible classroom space for the University's Center for the Humanities in Arts & Sciences.

"My biggest hope for this space is that it creates a unique overlap between the WashU community, the University City community, and the larger creative ecosystem in St. Louis," said Christopher Holt, founder of TechArtista. "It's a major opportunity for the university and for the larger city as well."

TechArtista UCity features a large open hall for workspace and events; a state-of-the-art kitchen complete with double ovens, stovetop, dishwasher, three sinks, and café-style seating; phone booths for privacy; a 14-person conference room with AV capabilities; a team breakout space; gender-neutral restrooms; dedicated desk workspaces; private offices for teams of two to five people; multiple courtyards with work and event space; a publicly accessible café, The Press, with an opening date to still be determined; ample event space; plus rotating art exhibits and a large-scale mural by Jayvn Solomon.
