Her demise marked the end of an era. Kamla Bhasin was one of the pioneers of the women's movement in not only India but also in South Asia. Kamla Bhasin's warmth and work touched many lives and her legacy will be cherished forever. At the age of 75, she passed away after battling cancer. Of course, her death came as a shock for everyone as she was the stalwart of women's rights. But her teachings and work on gender equality will many generations.
