CALCUTTA, India - Sept. 25, 2021 - PRLog -- Indian Coal Forum a Think-tank devoted to all aspects of Coal in India has created a permanent set-up  in the name of COAL LOG INDIA is organizing a International Conference focusing on challenges in moving 1 Billion Tons of Coal to be produced in India within in next 2-3  years.
This International Conference is aimed to build a matching narrative for India's Coal Production target of 1 Billion Tons and its Logistical challenges.
Kolkata is set to host this key conference on 3 December 2021 as part of Government's One Billion Tons Coal production target. Coal Producers, Policymakers, Regulators, Coal & Mining industry leaders, Experts, and Service providers from across  India are going to be a part of this international event.
Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Coal & Mines, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary (Coal) and Shri Pramod Agarwal, Chairman, Coal India Ltd. has been invited to grace this unique Conference as a Chief Guest and Guests of Honour.
Shri S N Tiwari, Director (Marketing), Shri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, Member Operations & Business Development, Indian Railways, Shri P. K Lahiri, Chairman- ICF & Former Secy (Mines & Revenue), Shri Alok Perti Co-Chairman- ICF & Former Secy ( Coal) are some of the eminent personalities who will share their views at the Inaugural session
Speaking about this International Conference, Shri U Kumar, Former Chairman cum Managing Director (South Eastern Coalfields Ltd.), Executive President – ICF & Advisor Essel Mining, said that the Conference with the theme "One Billion Tons – Logistical Challenges" aims at  setting out the challenges inherent in fast production build-up from the current level of about 700 Million tons to 1000 Million tons and the bigger challenge in upgrading the existing infrastructure and planning and constructing new facilities for moving this Coal.
This event will be an exciting amalgam of high caliber Conference Programme, New age logistics and supply chain solutions on display,and the State-of-the-art and yet-to- be tried new Coal Transport Solutions.
One full day packed event has been planned to bring together multiple stakeholders-Mining Companies, Captive/ Commercial Coal Block Operators, Bulk Coal Consumers, Coal Carriers by Road, Sea, Rail etc., State Mining and Mineral Departments, State Electricity Generation and Distribution Companies, Solution providers & Regulators of Coal Industry. There will be close to 20 top -notch speakers who will deliberate not only on the down-stream factors but also deal with up-stream influences affecting Logistics and Supply Chain problems in Coal, Government Policies, Railways, Future Plans, Safety and Increased use of Technology, said Shri N N Gautam, Secretary General, Indian Coal Forum & Former Advisor, Ministry of Coal.
