ANNISTON, Ala. - Sept. 27, 2021 - PRLog -- Washin Coin Laundry has selected 2nd Chance as it's Community Partner for the 4th Quarter of 2021.

Ken Barrett, President of Washin Coin Laundry's made the announcement on Monday Sept 27, 2021.

"October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month and Washin Laundry's wanted to help by raising awareness through our 5 locations and providing a donation from our Community Washer and Dryer Program," said Barrett.

The Community Washer and Dryer Program provides 25% of the proceeds from select machines in each location to a local non-profit, four times per year. Running from October through December these proceeds will go to 2nd Chance in Anniston, AL.

2nd Chance provides safe shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic and sexual violence from Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, Randolph and Talladega counties in Northeast Alabama, offering educational outreach to the communities served to create awareness and understanding of the prevalence and characteristics of these types of violence and of services available for victims and their families.

2nd Chance is a state-certified domestic violence program in Alabama that takes on this evolving problem to help victims get and stay safe.

Supportive services are available for domestic and sexual violence victims based on their needs, including emergency shelter, hospital accompaniment, court advocacy, individual advocacy through systems required to meet their needs, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, support groups, individual counseling and transportation.

Started in 2010 by Ken Barrett, with one location on Quintard Ave in Anniston, Washin Coin Laundry has expanded to include locations in Golden Springs, Lenlock and Oxford.

The Community Washer and Dryer program provides 25% of the revenues from select machines to be donated to local non-profits.
