MIAMI - Sept. 20, 2021 - PRLog -- Philanthropist and award-winning artist Elizabeth Erazo Baez unveiled her latest painting, "The Flowers of Latin America," to benefit the Latina Economic Advancement Project launched by the Latin American Business Association, Buena Vida Media and Florida Venture Foundation, accompanied by a coordinating limited-edition scarf to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15th at the Miami-Dade College Hialeah Campus.

"The Flowers of Latin America," depicting the national flower from each country in Latin America, received an overwhelmingly positive reception from the VIP guests, who avidly searched for the flower from their respective countries in the painting and on the limited-edition scarf. The acrylic on canvas painting incorporates the bright multicolored hues of Latin America with a unique blend of colors that characterizes the signature style that Baez brings to her work, evoking a strong nostalgia for Latin America.

"Being selected as the featured artist for the Latina Economic Advancement Project is an honor, because I can identify with the struggle as a Latina to build my career, business and earn the respect of the establishment as an artist," said Baez.

Noted for her philanthropic work and commitment to the advancement of Hispanic and Puerto Rican art globally, Baez has donated works of art for numerous scholarship fundraisers for Latino youth, and her art is now part of the art collection at Bay Path University. Her work was recently on exhibit in the Harlem Fine Art Show Virtual Art Exhibition from February to July of 2021, and she was a nominee for "100 Top Puerto Ricans in the USA" by New York Hunter College's Center for Puerto Rican Studies. In addition to curating the Broward College Annual Hispanic Heritage Group Art Exhibits for the past 16 years, Baez continues her work in the classroom teaching hundreds of children to love and appreciate art and is currently illustrating the bilingual children's book "Alicia and The Hurricane" by Lesléa Newman due out in April 2022.

"The Flowers of Latin America" painting is up for auction with a starting bid of $1,500.00. Part of the proceeds will benefit the project focused on survivability grants, educational opportunities, and access to growth capital for Latina entrepreneurs. The winning bid will be announced at the Tropical Nites Soiree to be held at the Miami Outboard Club, October 16th, 7:30 p.m.  The limited-edition scarf is also available for purchase.
