Black Women Expat Podcast Garners Short-list Nod from 2021 International Women's Podcasting Awards
Flourish in the Foreign, a podcast that showcases Black women from across the diaspora living and thriving abroad, is nominated in the category of "Moment of Touching Honesty"
Christine created Flourish in the Foreign due to the lack of representation in the expatriate community and in media depictions of ex-pats. "I feel like I would have moved much sooner had I heard the stories of Black women moving and living abroad for love, for career, for adventure, or on a whim. So, I wanted to create something that could be an anecdotal resource bank for Black women to utilize."
As for the announcement of being shortlisted, she is "absolutely thrilled"!
"When I launched the podcast, I truly didn't think anyone besides my mom would listen to it, so to receive messages saying 'this is my favorite podcast' or 'I decided to move abroad because of this podcast' is mindblowing. To be shortlisted for this award is incredible. I'm truly humbled."
