Riello UPS Achieves Living Wage Employer Accreditation

WREXHAM, Wales - Sept. 14, 2021 - PRLog -- he power protection specialist, which is based on Wrexham Industrial Estate in North Wales, has been accredited by the Living Wage Foundation after committing to the scheme's principle of delivering "a fair day's pay for a hard day's work".

The real Living Wage is the only rate of pay calculated according to the costs of living and provides a voluntary benchmark for employers to ensure their staff earn a salary that meets the pressures they face in their day-to-day lives.

It is currently set at a minimum of £9.50 per hour (£10.85 in London), significantly higher than the £8.91 an hour government rate for over 23s. Wales is a region with one of the highest proportions of low paid jobs in the UK, with more than 241,000 jobs (21%) paying less than the real Living Wage.

Since its introduction in 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to more than 250,000 people and put at least an extra £1.3 billion into the pockets of low paid workers.
