Hillsborough Gallery of Arts Previews Orange County Artists Guild Studio Tour

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Oct. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- This November 2021 marks the 27th year for the Orange County Artists Guild's Annual Open Studio Tour. During the first two weekends in November, more than 100 artists located throughout Orange County will be participating in this juried event and opening their studios to visitors. OCAG's Open Studio Tour is a rare opportunity for art lovers to meet artists in their studios, to view and purchase art directly from the artists, and in many instances to watch as artists demonstrate their craft. Studio Tour brochures and maps to participants' studios are available at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts and other area locations or on the Guild website: http://www.ocagnc.org

Many artists on the tour will have work in the OCAG Preview Exhibit at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts from October 29 - November 14. The preview show is a wonderful opportunity for a first look at the work of artists on the tour and can help you plan your tour route.

Five members of HGA will be among those participating in this year's tour, Pringle Teetor, Eduardo Lapetina, Jason Smith, Alice Levinson and Nancy Smith.

For the 10th year, Pringle Teetor, #63 on the tour, will be showing at Linda Carmel's home studio, 101 Huntington Drive, Chapel Hill. Pringle's blown glass and Linda's textured paintings complement each other perfectly. There will be plenty to see and touch.
Eduardo Lapetina's studio is located at 318 North Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, #62 on the tour map. This is his 12th year participating on the tour. Lapetina will show new abstract paintings with vibrant colors and in various sizes, including some very large pieces.
Jason Smith creates abstract metal sculptures in steel and copper using reclaimed material. Jason's studio is #2 on the map, 1709 NC HWY 86N, Hillsborough.
Alice Levinson will be exhibiting her contemporary wall-hung textile pieces. Each is rich in color and texture, and composed of hand-dyed fabric, densely sewn. Her studio is #23 on the map, 3604 Pasture Road, Hillsborough.
Nancy Smith's studio is #45, 201 Morningside Drive, Carrboro. She will have intriguing contemporary mixed media paintings of figures, animals and nature.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, October 29 from 6-9pm at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts, located in the Mercantile Building at 121 North Churton Street in historic downtown Hillsborough, North Carolina.
