aSTEAM Village Host Back to School Open House

STEM Day in Kansas City will be streamed to many on STEM City USA

BALTIMORE - Sept. 11, 2021 - PRLog -- aSTEAM Village in Kansas City, Missouri will be holding its Open House on Thursday, September 16th at 5 pm. Topics for discussion during the event include Diversity 101, Why STEM is COOL, Innovative Tech and the Future of Society to name a few. The event will be streamed from the aSTEAM Village room in the Education Discovery Building on the STEM City USA platform. The Open House's guest speaker will be Justin Shaifer and the Master of Ceremony will be Cynthia Newsome, with special violinist Dominique Hammons. Shaifer is a Science TV Host, STEM Advocate, and LinkedIn Top Voice in Technology. Newsome is a Midday news anchor for KSHB-TV as well as an award-winning journalist. Hammons specializes in Contemporary/Jazz and R&B who has played since he was 8 years old.

The aSTEAM Village vision is to accomplish an expanded learning STEAM curriculum program for families in Kansas City, MO. The program serves students, parents, grandparents, and others in the Kansas City community and is designed to be replicated by other communities easily from all over the world. Students will be enriched by this learning environment and become eager to participate in higher-level STEAM education tracks. Tracks that can lead these students to new career fields. STEM has always been an important field in order to advance the world and create real change. In today's age, especially since the pandemic, there has been this educational divide. Millions of students have been affected because of this and programs like aSTEAM Village have become incredibly essential.

For Honorary Co-Chairs, there's Missouri Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, Councilwoman for Kansas City Melissa Robinson, Superintendent Dr. Anna Stubblefield, Chairman of the Board Chester Thompson Jr. from aSTEAM Village, Chief Operations Officer Bambi George from Valorem Reply, and Bridge Group Director & Vice President Tirzah Gregory from HNTB. All are supporters of aSTEAM Village and what the program represents. Having this fundraiser can benefit the program in a variety of ways. There's an opportunity to become a sponsor, sponsorships can range from Station Sponsors ($1,000) all the way to the Presenting Sponsor ($15,000).
