MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Sept. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- Dana Aschin is an Emmy-award winning reporter/producer for Fox 5 News in New York City. As the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, she wears a specific piece on jewelry on her arm that represents a painful history.

The item, which has a profound meaning for her, is called the I REMEMBER BRACELET AGAINST GENOCIDE ® bracelet.

Dana says, "This bracelet is dedicated to all victims of genocide worldwide. It's meant to invoke meaningful dialogue between the wearer and those who look upon it. I wear it to honor my Poppy, whose signature and Auschwitz prisoner #143499 are both engraved on the bracelet. I will always wear it and continue to share his story."

This gender-neutral wrist wear comes from a collection devised by Dana's colleague, fashion entrepreneur and accessory innovator, Bonnie Glogover.  Bonnie is the  daughter of Holocaust survivor, Stanley (Szlamek) Jackson Glogover, (1925 –2013) who survived as a teenager in Auschwitz where he lost his mother and siblings and twenty-eight relatives.

"Inspired by my father," says Bonnie, "I wanted to design an heirloom collection of bracelets that would honor survivors and victims of genocide, past and present. I like to think of the bracelets as wearing history on your arm."

Both Dana and Bonnie are united in the cause of "Never forget", speaking out against genocide at every opportunity. Dana traveled to Poland in 2018 to learn more about her ancestors killed in the Holocaust. She shot and wrote three Fox 5 films on her journey. One production, 'The Forgotten Camps,' has won an Emmy Award.

Bonnie, for her part, was also instrumental in fulfilling her father's wish to return to Auschwitz, to pray for his murdered family. Furthermore, she inspired him to become a featured interviewee in a renowned documentary film Destination Unknown (released in 2017) that recorded important testimonies from the last generation of Holocaust survivors.

The I REMEMBER BRACELET AGAINST GENOCIDE ® collection, produced in silver, 18 carat white, rose, and yellow gold and also in platinum, is designed to be gender-neutral.  It's symbolic of a journey of memory and love.  The words "I REMEMBER" are inscribed on the inside, with space allowed to engrave the name of a loved one or a special date.

A percentage of all purchases of the I REMEMBER Bracelet is donated to the USC Shoah Foundation: https://sfi.usc.edu/.
