ALGER, Algeria - Sept. 6, 2021 - PRLog -- As almost every weekend, the Aswel platform, which already rises to around 1,750 m in altitude, is teeming with people on this morning of Friday January 16. Among those present, it is not only those who come with family or friends in search of a moment of escape and peace of mind. There are also groups that come in search of even more thrilling adventures.

They call themselves "Hmlawi" because of the conditions that characterize the challenge they are planning to take up. Usually formed in groups, they come from Algeria, Alger (Bab Ezzouar) and even other wilayas, with one and the same objective: that of attacking one of the highest peaks of Djurdjura, the summit of the Akoukeur, otherwise known as "Salah Boudrar" (The horn of the lakes) which culminates at an altitude of 2,304 m, ie 4 m less than the Lalla Khedidja summit. Among the groups present this morning in Aswel,

"Several national football teams and long-distance running athletes come to train, here, at altitude, but at the moment, it is used for the bivouac, as it served for those who broke the confinement before the hour" , explains Salah Boudrar, our mountain guide.
